 U.S. Naval Air, June 1960 to May 1969. Father of three and grandfather to seven (so far). An Iowa native, I left a career in the Navy when, after 9 years, I had the opportunity to join my Dad in a new business. My Dad was my hero, so that ended my military career.
My two sons, Bobby and Chad, are Iowa National Guard "lifers", and were both in the same unit sent to Iraq early in 2003. Both came home safely, but Old Glory still flies (24/7) at my home, and my porch light will continue to light her until the last soldier comes "home' (wherever that might be).
